Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin claimed that “no evidence of treason, bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors” was committed by Joe Biden to justify impeachment.
During an appearance on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” Raskin called the impeachment inquiry against Biden “ridiculous.”
“I mean, you’ve got people who voted not to impeach Donald Trump for inciting a violent insurrection against a union either because they don’t think that’s a crime or they don’t think the evidence was there even though the evidence was overwhelming.”
He continued
“We did have ten Republicans who joined us in the House and seven Republicans who voted to convict in Senate.”
“In any event, you’ve got these the Republicans who cannot bring themselves to impeach Donald Trump, who tried to overthrow a presidential election and attacked our constitutional order, now moving to impeach Joe Biden for reasons unstated. So I think that that’s absurd,” he said.
Raskin added, “There’s no evidence of treason, bribery, or high crimes and misdemeanors, there’s no evidence of any crime at all by Joe Biden.”
“So all of this is clearly being driven by Donald Trump, who wants to establish this counterfeit moral equivalency between the two of them just so he can say he’s running against another impeached president. So it’s really silly.”
Watch
However, House Speaker McCarthy said that Comer and Jordan now have enough evidence to necessitate an impeachment inquiry into Biden.
The allegations against Biden include but are not limited to various photos, texts, video, audio recordings, and IRS and former business partner whistleblower testimonies.
In June, Comer revealed that the Biden family accepted over $40 million in payments from shady foreign nationals.
Comer said his panel found “six specific policy decisions” on which Biden took action, indicating that he may have been “compromised.”
Four of the six policy decisions “were made while Joe Biden was president early on — [where] we cannot come to any other conclusion as to why these decisions were made, other than the fact that this president is compromised,” Comer noted.
“This was organized crime. There’s no other way to define it,” Comer alleged.
