Former president Obama’s top campaign advisor said Joe Biden’s chances of winning the 2024 presidential election were “no better” than 50-50, or maybe worse.
David Axelrod made a dire prediction for Biden to New York Times Columnist Maureen Dowd on Saturday.
Biden will turn 81 on Monday and 86 at the end of a second term.
“I think he has a 50-50 shot here, but no better than that, maybe a little worse,” Axelrod said.
“He thinks he can cheat nature here and it’s really risky.”
“They’ve got a real problem if they’re counting on Trump to win it for them,” he added.
“I remember Hillary doing that, too,” Obama’s campaign advisor said.
There is likely to be no love lost between the two men, as Biden is privately known to refer to Axelrod as a “prick,” Politico reported.
The New York Post reported:
“The bad blood underscores broader friction that has long persisted between Team Obama and Team Biden’s political camps.
As the economy slumps and war ranges in the Middle East and Europe, Americans have grown pessimistic about a second Biden term, polls show.
A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult survey released last week showed Trump leading Biden in six swing states, with or without third-party spoilers.”
Biden’s awful polling is also giving fodder to independent and primary candidates.
The Hill reported
“A series of troubling polls for President Biden is giving more fodder to the independent and primary candidates running for the White House in 2024.
Several recent surveys have shown Biden trailing or neck and neck with former President Trump, raising Democratic concerns even as the party emerges from a successful election night Tuesday.
Those fears could prove helpful for rivals such as Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), as well as independent contenders including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West, who have seized on those low figures to bolster their own campaigns as the 2024 presidential election kicks into higher gear.“
“You don’t need to be living in New Hampshire to know that President Biden is in trouble,” said Cullen Tiernan, an organizer in the Granite State, where Biden’s presidential rivals have flocked after he supported a change that downgrades their early voting status.
Last week, The Daily Fetched reported that Biden raised eyebrows after making strange comments about Gavin Newsom, which alluded to 2024 rumors that the California Governor might be preparing to run for president.
“He’s been one hell of a governor, man,” Biden said.
“Matter of fact, he can be anything he wants; he could have the job I’m lookin’ for,” he added.

Polls overwhelmingly show that American voters do not want Biden.
Newsom has also been getting practice at being commander-in-chief after he went on a week-long trip to both China and Israel.
This included a photo-op with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a private conversation with Xi.
