New York City hospitals and medical centers are overwhelmed by thousands of illegal migrants flooding the city from the southern border.
In 2023 alone, medical centers across five different boroughs have reported receiving nearly 30,000 from “undocumented” migrants, according to data from New York City Health + Hospitals.
“This has been the hardest work I’ve ever done,” said Dr. Ted Long, a senior vice president for New York City Health + Hospitals.
As NBC reports:
For patients whose legal needs aren’t critical emergencies, including US citizens who might be dealing with issues like addiction and eviction, the wait times can be months, or they can be referred to other service providers, she said.
“I’m sure if you talk to anybody else in the city who’s doing this work, there are waiting lists, and people are turning people away or referring them to other places,” Retkin said.
“If you asked me, ‘Do we need more resources for legal services?’ I would say absolutely, yes.”
Jazz Shaw from Hot Air writes:
“The entire system is overwhelmed. Whether you’re talking about housing, food, clothing, medical care, or anything else, the migrants are sucking all of the resources out of the city.
And the taxpayers are footing the bill for all of it, either directly or indirectly. Few have the heart to say no to the migrants because Americans tend to be charitable people who want to help if they’re able.
But this has long since passed the point of ridiculousness.
Somebody needs to grow a spine and do the job that Joe Biden refuses to do. The vast majority of these migrants are not eligible for asylum and the government knows it.”
Shaw is correct.
All this is Biden’s fault because he is the one in charge.
Meanwhile, nothing is being done to stop this invasion, which will eventually collapse New York City and the US.
Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Eric Adams begged the Mexican government to halt the flow of migrants into his city during a trip to the country on Wednesday.
Adams and other Democrat leaders warned the migrant crisis could ruin New York, despite some still wishing for the city to maintain its “sanctuary” status.
The NYC Mayor’s trip was aimed at discouraging migrants from traveling to New York City.
Over the past few months, hundreds of illegal aliens have flooded the city after Texas Governor Greg Abbott shipped the migrants to “sanctuary cities.”
New York is now struggling to accommodate nearly 10,000 migrants.
“The city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis,” Adams said last month.
He also blasted New York City officials for not fighting hard enough to get federal resources to New York City.
The Mayor’s next stop is expected to visit Ecuador, Panama, and Columbia.
Over 113,000 undocumented migrants have flooded New York after crossing the southern border since last year.
The migrant crisis is so bad that around 100 hotels have been turned into shelters in New York, including The Paul Hotel, The Paramount Hotel, and the Roosevelt, which houses 3,000.
