Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has spent all of her $76 million of campaign funding as she faces an embarrassing loss against former president Donald Trump.
Haley failed in her attempts to defeat Trump in the primary races of four different states:
Michigan
South Carolina
New Hampshire
Iowa
Despite enjoying massive financial investments, Haley suffered major losses.
She effectively used up expenses which could have limited the funding the GOP will need to challenge current President Joe Biden, the National Pulse reports.
In January, Haley’s campaign and her supporting political action committees had just $15 million cash on hand, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
Those who have dumped Haley include LinkedIn co-founder, Reid Hoffman.
His advisor said donations would not resume until evidence indicated Haley stood a chance against Trump.
The Koch brothers also dumped Haley this week.
Last week, the former governor recently stated she would remain in the campaign despite losing the GOP presidential primary in her home state of South Carolina.
“I’m a woman of my word. I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden,” she told supporters.
However, Haley will continue her fight without the help of powerful financial backing from billionaires.
“Given the challenges in the primary states ahead, we don’t believe any outside group can make a material difference to widen her path to victory,” AFP Action CEO Emily Seidel wrote in an email to staff reported by Politico.
“And so while we will continue to endorse her, we will focus our resources where we can make the difference.”
