Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) celebrated her victory lap against Joe Biden after she interrupted him during his State of the Union address after yelling out the name “Laken Riley,” prompting the president to veer off the script and describe the nursing student’s suspected killer as an “illegal.”
In an X post on Friday, MTG wrote:
“They are melting down because I forced Biden to go off script, and he finally told the truth and admitted Laken Riley was murdered by an ILLEGAL!!!”
She added:
“Yes that’s right Joe,” then reiterated, “ILLEGAL ALIEN!!!!”
Greene posted a video of her interruption, which caused Biden to make the spontaneous remark.

“An innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. That’s right,” Biden said during the address.
“But how many of the thousands of people being killed by illegals? To her parents, I say, my heart goes out to you having lost children myself. I understand.”
Biden’s use of the word illegal” angered Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“Now he should have said undocumented, but that’s not a big thing, ok? What’s the big thing?” Pelosi said.
“Well, we usually say ‘undocumented.’ He said ‘illegal.’ I don’t think it’s a big deal,” Pelosi continued.
“I don’t think it’s a big deal because I think his focus was on the sympathy for the family. It’s a terrible tragedy.”
Other Democrats took to social media to blast Biden.
“As a proud immigrant,” Illinois Democratic Rep. Chuy García wrote Thursday.

Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas said Biden’s rhetoric was “dangerously close to language from Donald Trump that puts a target on the backs of Latinos everywhere.”
