A Milwaukee radio station admitted it edited an interview with Joe Biden so the Biden team could cover up his gaffes.
The progressive talk-radio network Civic Media openly admitted that it fell short of its own “journalistic interview standards” by adhering to requests to edit the Biden appearance.
The interview underwent alterations in two key areas, including Biden’s responses about black Americans, specifically the number of black individuals in his administration. Another edit included Biden’s comments about the Central Park Five case, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The first edit removed Biden’s claim that he has “more Blacks in my administration than any other president, all other presidents combined, and in major positions, cabinet positions.”
The second completely removed a reference to “hanging” when discussing Donald Trump‘s call for the death penalty for the Central Park Five.
However, Civic Media said they would release the unedited version on their website following backlash.
In a statement, it explained the Biden campaign requested the edits immediately after the phone interview was recorded.

The changes were initially viewed as non-substantive, and the edited version was cleared for broadcast.
However, the radio network expressed disagreement with the team’s judgment, especially regarding the decision to edit the audio and handle the interview questions.
They vowed to stand by Ingram and chalked off the incident as a “learning experience.”
Ingram told ABC News last weekend, “Yes, I was given some questions for Biden.”
A Biden spokesman told the Journal Sentinel, “Hosts have always been free to ask the questions and air the segments they think will best inform their listeners.”

The incident comes as a growing number of media outlets that previously supported Biden are now openly calling out his gaffes.
Ingram was one of two radio personalities who recently admitted to allowing Biden’s team to script their interviews with the president.
The other radio host involved was Philadelphia’s WURD presenter, Andrea Lawful-Sanders.
She lost her position hosting The Source after news emerged that she used pre-screened questions in her Biden interview.
Later, WURD announced they had “mutually agreed to part ways” with Lawful-Sanders, adding that agreeing to predetermined questions jeopardizes trust
The interview in question was where Biden referred to himself as a “black woman.”
“By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman… to serve with a black president,” he said to WURD.
“Proud to be involved of the first black woman on the Supreme Court.”
“There’s so much that we can do because, look… we’re the United States of America,” Biden stated.
