House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced on Monday that the House would undertake an impeachment inquiry into Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland by July 6
McCarthy said, “And if it comes true what the IRS whistleblower is saying, we’re going to start impeachment inquiries on the attorney general,” The Daily Mail reports.
On Sunday, McCarthy said that US Attorney David Weiss “must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee” about why an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes was stalled.
The news comes in the wake of IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley’s testimony that t Weiss and others obstructed their investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes.
According to Shapley, Weiss even said that he would not decide if the prosecution should take place.
“We need to get to the facts,” McCarthy said.
“And that includes reconciling these clear disparities. US Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee. If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”
Shapley gave testimony to the House on the IRS investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax crimes.
US Attorney for Delaware Weiss told Shapley in an October 2022 meeting that he was “not the deciding official on whether charges are filed.”

Weiss said that “he subsequently asked for special counsel authority from Main DOJ at that time and was denied that authority.”
Over the weekend, President Donald Trump said the Joe Biden crime family corruption is “100 times bigger than Watergate” just days after an IRS whistleblower made the explosive revelations about the Biden “crime family.”
In a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition, Trump highlighted the IRS whistleblower who revealed that Biden and his son demanded to be paid by CCP-linked Chinese businessman Henry Zhao in 2017.
“Just two days ago, an IRS whistleblower revealed that Crooked Joe sat in a room while his son Hunter messaged a Chinese Communist Party official and said QUOTE: ‘I am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the Director that I would like to resolve this NOW before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the Chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows, you will REGRET not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.’”
