Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, admitted that New York City is “out of room, literally” after the city was flooded with 160,000 border crossers and illegal aliens since spring of 2022.
Despite Adams’ complaints, his administration continues giving free hotel rooms to new arrivals.
Speaking with FOX5 NY’s Rosanna Scotto, Adams warned that border crossers and illegal aliens would soon be sleeping in the city streets if Biden continues to allow the open border to cause unprecedented unlawful immigration.
“We’re not just saying we’re out of room as a sound bite — we’re out of room, literally,” Adams said.
“People are going to be eventually sleeping on the streets.”
Adams also claimed he cannot revoke New York City’s sanctuary policy, which protects illegal aliens from being deported.

“We cannot by law tell someone if they come into the city, ‘You can’t come into the city,'” Adams said.
“We can’t even turn them over to ICE … the law states that we cannot notify ICE. I cannot break the law and enforce the law.”
Scotto asked Adams why his administration gave billions in free hotel rooms, food, city-run shelters, free cell phones, and other services if the city was at breaking point.
For example, the iconic Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan has been transformed into a migrant camp, with 70,000 passing through its luxe lobby before moving out to other hotels and shelters.
Adams claimed that New York City services for border crossers and illegal aliens would be cut down to “food, shelter, clothing, [and] that’s it.”
He also told New Yorkers to expect their quality of life to be downgraded tremendously due to budget cuts so the city can pay for illegal aliens.
The taxpayers are footing the bill for Biden’s open border.
