Representative Matt Gaetz announced he would introduce legislation to defund Jack Smith’s ongoing “witch hunt” investigation of President Donald Trump.
During the recent Episode 113 of his podcast, ‘Firebrand with Matt Gaetz,’ the Republican made his intentions clear.
“In the coming hours, in the coming days, I will be introducing legislation under my name and the House of Representatives as a freestanding bill to defund the Jacksmith investigation,” said Gaetz.
Gaetz argued that the “witch hunt” investigation against Trump was interfering with the election and destroying American democracy in the process.
“They are attacking our democracy and engaging in election interference right now. The United States Congress has the capability to stop this election interference, and we must act immediately!” he wrote.
Gaetz said one of the key reasons for the proposed legislation was a lack of transparency as one of the
“I just want to know who’s on the Jack Smith team. You ought to be able to evaluate where they’ve made political donations, what their connections are to people who have power in Washington DC,” Gaetz said.
He also slammed the DOJ for its lack of response to his inquiries, stating that he is entitled to this information as a member of the Judiciary Committee.
Gaetz also stressed that the public should know where their representatives stand on this issue.
“Will they co-sponsor my legislation? I certainly hope they will,” he said.

Earlier this week, Trump responded to the letter that told him he’s a target in a grand jury investigation.
“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump wrote.
As The Daily Fetched reported earlier this month, Jack Smith announced he was preparing to hit President Trump with 45 additional charges if Judge Aileen Cannon delays or thwarts the classified documents case, according to a leak.
The additional charges, reported as a “backup plan,” are expected to come from Jack Smith “in the coming weeks.”
Trump was recently indicted on 37 federal counts in a Florida court.
The special counsel’s prosecutors are preparing a “superseding indictment,” a separate set of charges against the 45th president in the Southern District of Florida.

What chance does Goetz think this has of even getting a vote in he House let alone passing Congress and not being vetoed by Brandon?

This witch hunt against Trump makes me just furious and that is putting it mildly .The communists rigged the election and that was bad enough but not for them they have to go after Trump communist fashion and that is just flat out wrong they hate Trump like something like I have never seen and probably will not see again my belief is that if they can’t get him in jail they will have him killed just like they did the Kennedys

This is good…but I’m starting to catch on to the scam. All these big tough Patriots (Paul, Gaetz, MTG, Cruz, Kennedy, McCarthy, et al) talk a big game and REALLY loudly give it to the Democrats, and they introduce legislation and hold hearings. But they NEVER accomplish anything. Any of them. Ever. No indictments. No prosecutions. Just more tough talk and the ensuing celebration of fake victory.
We have a failed state. Trump should tell Jack Smith where to go and ignore him.
