Kate Middleton, the Royal Family member dogged by press reports fuelled by conspiracy theories about her whereabouts following a series of doctored photos, was spotted at a farm looking “happy and healthy” by “onlookers.”
Except there is one small problem: There was no photographic evidence that she was there.
In the age of camera phones, you would have thought a member of the public would have captured a picture of Middleton by now.
According to reports, onlookers spotted the Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, as they visited a farm shop in Winsor over the weekend after watching their children at a sporting event.
However, despite multiple eye eyewitness accounts of the visit, not a single one managed to snap the royal couple.
“After all the rumors that had been going ’round, I was stunned to see them there,” one eyewitness shared with the Sun.
“Kate was out shopping with William, and she looked happy and she looked well.”
“The kids weren’t with them, but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops,” the source added.
The Daily Mail’s post on X was slapped with community notes for misleading readers that the picture of Middleton where recent.
Middleton, 42, underwent a surgical procedure that caused her absence from the public eye for months.
Her sudden disappearance fuelled speculation about her health and well-being among the British tabloids.
In a bizarre attempt to quell speculation, the Yal Palace released a UK Mother’s Day photo of the princess and her family, which major press agencies later identified to be doctored.
According to Middleton’s aides, it is conceivable she will publicly address her absence, though they won’t rush her into making a statement.
“I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements,” a royal source told The Sunday Times, adding that she and Prince William are “at their most open.”
“If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.”
Other Royal experts said Kate could address her health condition the following month.
Roya Nikkhah said:
“I think she is going to be much more open about what’s happened; I think she will do it in a natural, organic way, like on an engagement.”
“We have seen William at engagements in the past few weeks and everyone is asking him how is Kate, saying please give these flowers to your wife. I think when she’s out and about she will be asked about it.”
“I’m not saying she will go into every detail about what surgery she has has but she might find a way to speak about her recovery about the places it’s taken her mentally and physically, we know mental health is an important thing for them, that is the way she is going to let the people know has been going on.”
