Vice President Kamala Harris‘ presidential campaign has announced plans to impose COVID-19 vaccination mandates on their staff, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Staffers who are not up to date on vaccines risk losing their jobs.
The Harris for President campaign’s official job listing states:
“Harris for President requires all employees to be ‘up to date’ on COVID-19 vaccination status as prescribed by the CDC as a condition of employment unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law.”
“Up to date” refers to receiving a 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine, with options available from Pfizer, Moderna, or Novavax.
The campaign’s new demands also imply that staff needs to receive an additional dose when the 2024-2025 vaccines are released.
Those following the CDC recommendation since the pandemic began would effectively receive their tenth shot.
According to Schachtel, Harris has received at least four COVID-19 vaccinations, the last of which was administered in mid-2022.
However, Harris tested d positive for COVID-19 before beginning a course of Pfizer’s antiviral treatment, Axios reported.
Harris once claimed that 220 million Americans had died from the virus and advocated imposing a vaccine mandate on private employers.
In 2020, Harris expressed skepticism about a vaccine developed under the Trump administration and said she would not take it without it being vetted.
But after the election, Harris reversed course and began criticizing those who refused the vaccine as “conspiracy theorists” and “science deniers.”
Some are now speculating that Harri’s new vaccination requirement may serve an ulterior motive, a move to filter out employees with opposing political views.
By enforcing a strict vaccination policy, the campaign may be aiming to ensure they have the most loyal and compliant individuals.
