MSNBC host Joy Reid suffered a meltdown ahead of Donald Trump’s Iowa caucuses victory on Monday, expressing concerns about the high percentage of white Christians in the state.
“These are white Christians. That this is a state that is over represent overrepresented by white Christians… Iowa is about 61% white Christian,” said Reid.
“The country as a whole is approximately 41% white Christian, and in Iowa, we’re talking about evangelical white Christians.”

Trump solidified his status as the race’s clear frontrunner following his landslide in Iowa on Monday.
As FT reported:
“With most of the votes counted from precincts across the Midwestern state, Trump was on course to win more than 51 per cent, with Ron DeSantis narrowly beating Nikki Haley to secure a distant second place, with just over 21 per cent support. Haley came in third, with around 19 per cent.”
“I really think this is time now for everybody, our country, to come together,” Trump told his supporters at a post-caucus party in downtown Des Moines.
Trump described his Republican rivals as “very smart people, very capable people.”
The former president’s victory was the largest ever vote share in a contested Iowa caucus, smashing the 41 percent George W Bush won in 2000.
The victory shows Trump has unprecedented support despite facing federal criminal charges.
Meanwhile, DeSantis and Haley each were left without hopes of being a plausible challenger to Trump for the Republican nomination.

The news comes as former aides to former President Obama have become concerned about President Biden’s election strategies for 2024 as polls suggest he is falling into deeper trouble.
