Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey endorsed Robert F Kennedy Jr (RFK) for president in 2024, despite pushing the same censorship of coronavirus and vaccine information on the platform that the Democratic candidate has vowed to abolish.
Dorsey claimed RFK Jr “can and “will” beat both incumbent Joe Biden and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump.
When asked if his remarks were an endorsement or a prediction, Dosey said it was both.
Dorsey added that the DNC was becoming “more irrelevant by the day.”
The former Twitter CEO’s remarks drew fire from leftist commentator Keith Olbermann, who declared Dorsey a “moron.”
Another leftist said RFK is a “noted conspiracy wacko.”
The academic posted a follow-up tweet:
“Forget ‘Woke-Mind Virus,'” he said.
“‘Rich White Man Thinks Being Rich And White Means He Understands Everything Virus’ is far deadlier.”
While Twitter was under the ownership and control of Dorsey, the platform implemented many of its COVID-19 censorship policies and suppressed debate over the safety and efficacy of vaccines, a topic for which RFK Jr was censored from discussion.
Dorsey also attempted to backpedal Twitter’s public commitments to free speech under his watch, calling the company’s famous claim to be the “free speech wing of the free speech party” a “joke.”
Despite the many forms of censorship Dorsey helped implement during his time as Twitter CEO, he attempted to fix his free speech credentials by leaving the company and laying out “principles” for social media platforms to resist government censorship.
Dorsey’s endorsement of RFK Jr appears to be just another example of him trying to fix his awful reputation as an n enforcer of censorship.
Last month, Kennedy said he would end the “censorship-industrial complex” if he won the presidency.
“My administration will restore that role,” RFK Jr wrote, adding, “We will end the censorship-industrial complex,” in response to the remarks made by Musk.
