Earlier this week, insiders said the possibility of a Manhattan judge issuing a gag order against President Donald Trump is becoming more likely, and if that happens, some commentators warned Trump could be imprisoned even before the trial starts.
The unnamed Trump source said this:
“The Trump legal team now thinks that the Manhattan judge will take the unprecedented step of silencing the presidential frontrunner with an unconstitutional gag order tomorrow.”
“The Trump legal team is considering adding a First Amendment lawyer to the effort to combat this and will fight it all the way,” the source added – per The Daily Mail.
Conservative radio host Glenn Beck said a “gag order” against Trump would render him powerless to defend himself against the media’s slander.
“If a gag order is issued against Trump, that would mean a presidential candidate wouldn’t be allowed to defend himself from the media’s slander. That’s INSANITY,” Beck said.
The Western Journal writer, Jack Davis, warned that in the event of a “gag order” Trump could face an impossible choice of either remaining quiet or being imprisoned.
“Trump’s legal team expects that Trump will be hit with a gag order from state Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, sitting in Manhattan, as part of the legal proceedings against him now that he has been indicted,” he wrote.
Former federal prosecutor Duncan Levin said a gag order against Trump was “not only a possibility, but it’s extremely likely.”
“He is a criminal defendant and, you know, we see hundreds of thousands of criminal defendants across the country every day who have a lot of rights stripped away from them, and he is now one of them. These proceedings are going to change his life,” Levin said.
However, Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, said the case would be thrown out if the Judge put a gag order on Trump.

Meanwhile, Tim Pool of Timcast floated the more grim scenario of Trump going to prison indefinitely.
“Now Donald Trump does get arrested, charged, and goes to jail I don’t think they’ll ever let him out. They’re gonna do what they did to Julian Assange to Donald Trump,” Poll said
“They’re gonna lock him up and make sure he can’t do anything,” he added.
