Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called for the “formal deprogramming” of MAGA “cult members,” asserting that “extreme measures” are needed to stop Trump taking back the White House.
During an appearance on CNN’s “Primetime” on Thursday, Clinton began her vicious attack on Trump supporters as Democrats scramble in the wake of the recent Kevin McCarthy outburst.
Clinton said:
“You saw the number of Republicans who voted along with Democrats to keep the government open, so there’s clearly a common sense, sane part of the Republican caucus in the House.”
“But I think they are intimidated,’ she said.
“They oftentimes, you know, say and do things which they know better than to say or do,” Clinton added.
“It will require us defeating those most extreme measures and the people who promote them in order to try to get to some common ground where people can again work together,” Clinton charged.
She continued:
“That’s the way it used to be. I mean, we had very strong partisans in both parties in the past and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things, gun control, and climate change, and the economy, and taxes.”
“But there wasn’t this little tail of extremism wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today.”
“And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure,” Hillary said.
“He’s only in it for himself,” Hillary said of Trump.
“He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions,” she added.
“When do they break with him? You know, because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” Hillary said of MAGA.
“But something needs to happen.”

Clinton added:
“At this point, I think, sadly, he will still be the nominee and we have to defeat him and we have to defeat those who are the election deniers, as we did in 2020 and 2022, and we have to just be smarter about how we are trying to empower the right people inside the Republican Party.”
Earlier this week, Hillary characterized Trump as “dark and dystopian.”
“He wants to undermine the rule of law, to destroy our institutions, to pull us out of NATO, do Putin’s bidding, to be unwilling to stand up for the real American values, to put one person above the country,” she said.
“None of that is American. So, I think that Biden/Harris deserves to be reelected,” Clinton added.
The former secretary of State also attempted to resurrect the debunked “Putin interference” narrative.
“I don’t think, despite all of the deniers, there is any doubt that he interfered in our election or that he has interfered in many ways in the internal affairs of other countries, funding political parties, funding political candidates, buying off government officials in different places,” Clinton said.
“He hates democracy. He particularly hates the West, and he especially hates us,” she said.
“And he has determined that he can do two things simultaneously,” Clinton continued.
Clintons attacks come as Trump faces 34 felony counts in connection with hush money payments to a porn star.
He also faces 40 felony counts for handling classified documents in Florida.
In Washington, D.C., he faces four felony counts for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. And in Georgia, he faces 13 felony counts for his election interference in that State.
Last month, Clinton took to social media to boast about Trump’s Georgia indictment, claiming it proves the judicial “system is working” and “justice is being pursued.”
