Former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said during an interview on “60 Minutes” with Cecilia Vega that he never spoke once to President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris about the border crisis during his tenure.
Ortiz served as border chief from August 2021 through May 2023 and was also the deputy chief under President Trump.
Ortiz has since retired after three years with the agency.
During the explosive interview, a visibly frustrated Ortiz revealed what is really happening at the border under Biden.
“When agencies are making a decision based upon politics or whether they’re gonna get media coverage, hey, we’re gonna put all our personnel in this two-mile stretch. What about the other 200 miles?” Ortiz said.
He then expressed frustration with Biden’s handling of border security and the lack of direct communication with top White House officials.
“I’ve never had one conversation with the president. Or the vice president, for that matter. And so I was the chief of the border patrol. I commanded 21,000 people. That’s a problem,” Ortiz said.
Biden appointed Kamala Harris to handle the border crisis in 2021. Her role was to stop illegal immigration entering the U.S supposedly.
However, since Harris took charge, an unprecedented half a million people have illegally crossed into America.
Ortiz also voiced the need for cooperation with countries in Central and South America and Mexico to stop the flow of illegal migrants into the U.S.

When approached by a reporter who asked Biden why he was waiting to take executive action, he said he didn’t have any.
Biden took 94 executive actions in his first 100 days in office to weaken border security.
Since then, millions of military-age men from Africa, the Middle East, China, and Latin America have poured in.
“Why are you waiting to take executive action on the border?” a reporter asked Biden.
“We need more forces on the border! I don’t have the authority to do that!” Biden shouted.
