Singer Sir Elton John has announced he is leaving Twitter due to concerns about “misinformation” under Elon Musk’s leadership of the platform.
The singer announced his departure on Twitter, saying, “All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together. Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.”
“I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent policy change, which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.”

The singer’s remarks come amid Musk’s announcement he was granting “general amnesty” for suspended accounts.
Democrats like Adam Schiff claim the platform is now awash with “racism.”
Schiff wrote on Twitter:
“Hey Elon, under your leadership neo-Nazis, homophobes, and racists are flocking to Twitter. And spewing hate speech.”

“And if it wasn’t followed by a bunch of antisemitic QAnon tweets attacking me.”
Elon Musk Responded:
“False, hate speech impressions are actually down by 1/3 for Twitter now vs prior to acquisition @CommunityNotes.”
