Elon Musk threatened to sue the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a major anti-First Amendment organization which has been pushing the platform to crack down on conservative accounts.
In response to a post from Libs of Tik-Tok, Elon Musk noted the ADL had pushed Twitter-X to crack down on accounts like Libs of Tik-Tok, even though the account had nothing to do with anti-Semitism.
Musk accused the ADL of “trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic” after the shady nonprofit claimed there was a spike in hate speech on the platform.
Musk then said he may have to sue the ADL for defamation!
Elon posted tweets exposing the far-left ADL’s vile agenda against free speech.
Meanwhile, X is suing the Center for Countering Digital Hate for “false” claims after it claimed bigoted speech had surged on the platform since Musk took over.
An ADL spokesperson said in a statement that the nonprofit doesn’t comment on legal threats but addressed the push to remove the group from X, Axios reported.
“ADL is unsurprised yet undeterred that antisemites, white supremacists, conspiracy theorists, and other trolls have launched a coordinated attack on our organization. This type of thing is nothing new,” the spokesperson said.
“This onslaught comes following our participation in the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington, where ADL proudly marched shoulder-to-shoulder with African American leaders and those from other minority communities. It also follows a meeting with the leadership of X … that clearly upset these hateful groups,” the spokesperson added.
