Twitter CEO Elon Musk said it was “odd” that very little is known about the Las Vegas shooter who carried out the deadliest mass shooting in American history, leaving 60 people dead.
Despite the shooting taking place in 2017, there is still hardly any information about the motive of the gunman Stephen Paddock.
The authority’s unwillingness to release details of the shooting has left many wondering why such information has been withheld.
Author Ashley St. Clair highlighted the lack of answers and tweeted:
“We know nothing about the Las Vegas shooter who carried out the deadliest mass shooting in US history.”
St. Clair’s tweet instantly went viral, confirming many Americans think the same thing.
The tweet about the lack of information about the Las Vegas shooter even caught the attention of Elon Musk.
Musk responded to the tweet and wrote, “That is odd.”
St. Clair then jokingly asked Musk to look for answers in the Twitter files.
While the FBI has failed to release any information on Paddock’s motive, some mainstream media outlets reported on what they believed caused the gunman to carry out the shooting.
NBC News reported:
Las Vegas shooter was upset over how casinos treated him, new FBI documents say
The high-stakes gambler who carried out the deadliest mass shooting in modern America, killing 60 and injuring hundreds more in Las Vegas, was apparently angry over how the casinos were treating him despite his high-roller status, according to a fellow gambler.
An FBI interview with the gunman’s fellow gambler is detailed in hundreds of pages of documents made public this week. The gambler, whose name is redacted in the documents, said he believed the stress could have easily caused gunman Stephen Paddock “to snap.” Paddock, 64, was a video poker player who relied on gambling as his main source of income.
The revelation comes years after the FBI in Las Vegas and the local police department concluded their investigations without a definitive motive, although both agencies said Paddock burned through more than $1.5 million, became obsessed with guns, and distanced himself from his girlfriend and family in the months leading up to the massacre.
