An E-bike, lauded as the safe and environmentally friendly means of transportation in the UK capital of London, reportedly exploded at a train station this week.
The stationary bicycle started to smoke before bursting into flames, scattering pieces over the platform, footage showed, The Daily Sceptic reported.
Footage showed commuters running away from the smoking bike.
However, the London Fire Brigade said that no one was injured in the explosion.
The incident occurred in Sutton last month.
Posting a video clip of the incident on X:
“We’re asking businesses, including rail operators, to consider their risk assessments after crews attended an e-bike fire on a Sutton train station platform.”
“Crews were called just as rush hour was underway last month, fortunately, no one was injured.”

The news comes just months after a series of electric vehicle explosions.
In March, an electric-powered tricycle caught fire while parked outside Buckingham Palace.
Meanwhile, another e-bike exploded in a block of flats in Roehampton.
There have also been incidents involving electric vehicles.
In September, an electric car exploded into a massive fireball while sitting on the driveway of a family home, which also caught fire, according to reports.
Emergency fire services were called to a home in Bromborough, Wirral, UK, at around 10 pm after receiving reports that a car was on fire.
The blaze from the electric car was so big the family’s home also caught fire.
