New police bodycam footage shows a police officer coming face to face with failed Donald Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks after being hoisted onto the roof.
The video shows a Butler Township officer’s view as he got the first glimpse of the Trump shooter.
However, the cop dropped back down from the roof after Crooks pointed his rifle directly at him.
The officer then alerted other officers that there was a gunman on the roof.
The sound on the video only becomes audible when the cop goes to get his weapon.

The officer could be seen falling from the roof before running to grab his rifle. (Audio is off until 1:38 in the footage)

“F*cking this close, bro. Dude, he turned around on me,” the officer is heard saying in the video.
The cop gets back on the roof and tells the snipers, “Before you motherf*ckers came up here, I popped my head up there like an idiot by myself, dude.”
“Then he turned around and I fcking dropped, and I started fcking… I was calling out, ‘Bro, fcking on top of the roof.’ Fcking, we’re not on the same frequency?” the exasperated cop is heard saying.
The footage serves as a reminder that Crooks was surrounded by police who were aware he had a gun while Trump was on stage speaking.
“I’m f—ing p—ed. We couldn’t find him,” another officer can be heard saying.
Confusion arises after one officer says to others, “I thought you were on the roof?”
“Why were we not on the roof…why weren’t we?” an officer states as they discuss telling the Secret Service days before to post people on the building.

Another cop says, “If you’d all had a gun up there … I’d have shot him. He wouldn’t have ripped out a gun up there.”
“I’d say this is a f— up…somebody f—ed up,” another cop adds.

The Secret Service snipers were not communicating on the same frequency as the local police, and their meeting had not taken place earlier in the day.
Crooks was literally running across the infamous sloped rooftop within view of the snipers before he fired shots.
