President Donald Trump’s explosive interview with Tucker Carlson on Wednesday completely obliterated Ron DeSantis’ Twitter launch.
DeSantis’ campaign launch drew in 3.4 million listeners on the first day of the Twitter Space launch, with around 300,000 live listeners.
“Getting a few hundred thousand people to do something for some number of minutes is not that big of a deal,” Brian Wieser said.
However, Trump’s interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, aired on Wednesday and posted at the same time as the GOP primary debate, racked up around 75 million viewers in just 20 minutes.

Numbers don’t lie!
Trump’s popularity and interest compared to DeSantis shocked online commentators.
“We don’t need to wait for the cable ratings tomorrow. This was a blowout. Trump-Tucker CRUSHED the competition,” conservative commentator Carl DeMaio posted to Twitter.
“73.6M views on Trump / Tucker already. Incredible,” tweeted conservative pundit Jack Posobiec.
Trump’s interview with Tucker has now garnered 114 million views, according to the view counter displayed on Twitter.
Trump campaign senior adviser Susie Wiles said the interview was a “clear contrast between President Trump engaging in a thoughtful policy discussion about what his second term will look like versus 90-second canned sound bites and platitudes from the debate stage.”
“President Trump won this evening’s Republican debate in dominating fashion. More people watched President Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson than the rest of the field on the debate stage combined,” Wiles said.
“What is clear after the dust settles: none of the other candidates looked ready to take on Crooked Joe Biden. Only one leader can Make America Great Again, and that’s President Donald J. Trump,” Wiles added.
