Ron DeSantis took a shot a former Donald Trump after the former president accused him of grooming high school girls” in a Truth Social post.
Earlier this week, Trump retruthed a post from user Don Chan-Lee, who posted a picture of DeSantis with what appeared to be three young women, with the caption, “Ron DeSantis was having a “drink” party with his students when he was a high school teacher. Having drinks with underage girls and cuddling with them certainly look pretty gross and ephebophiliaesque.”
Without mentioning Trump by name, DeSantis took a shot at the former president, saying he is not interested in smearing other Republicans, unlike Trump.
“I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against Joe Biden,” DeSantis said.
“That’s how I spend my time,” DeSantis added.
“I don’t spend my time trying to smear other Republicans.”
DeSantis’s response drew loud applause from the crowd.

The Florida Governor’s rpeosne came from a question from a reporter who connected Trump’s “baseless” attack to a defamation panel. He is advocating for legislation that protects “Floridians from the life-altering ramifications that defamation from the media can cause for a person who does not have the means or the platform to defend himself.”
It was in that vein that DeSantis said, “I face defamatory stuff every single day I’ve been governor; that’s just the nature of it.”
“It just goes with the territory. You gotta have a thick skin,” he said.
DeSantis is yet to announce a campaign for president
Polls repeatedly show DeSantis’ primary and general election popularity.
When reporters ask DeSantis about Trump’s attacks, he reminds them that he, not Trump, wins elections, and by significant margins.
As of writing, Ron DeSantis still does not have a Truth Social account.
