Hunter Biden’s brown leather pouch used to hold his firearm had cocaine on it, according to federal prosecutors.
A court filing from special counsel David Weiss revealed that investigators removed the sealed Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver from a state police vault and found suspicious white powder on the pouch, which turned out to be cocaine.
According to the 52-page court filing, an FBI chemist determined that the “white powder” was indeed cocaine.

“To be clear, investigators literally found drugs on the pouch where the defendant had kept his gun,” the chemist said.
On Tuesday, prosecutors asked a judge to reject Hunter’s attempts to have the gun charges dropped after the cocaine residue was found.
According to the prosecutors, “the strength of the evidence against him is overwhelming,” and roundly rejected the First Son’s claims that Republicans were targeting him.
“That’s the one thing — one of the reasons why I’m going to survive this — and I’m going to survive it clean and sober — is because I am not going to let these motherf*ckers use me as just another example of why people in recovery are never going to be okay, never to be trusted, they’re all degenerates,” Hunter said.
“I’m just not going to let that happen.”
“I’m just not going to let it happen,” Biden said.
The New York Post noted:
“Prosecutors noted that Hunter Biden plowed ahead with writing the book after he was made aware that local authorities had recovered the weapon from an elderly man who was sorting recyclables from the trash can and that there was an ongoing federal investigation into the matter.
They also pointed to messages, including ones Hunter exchanged with Hallie, who had discarded the weapon about 11 days after he bought it.
Hunter Biden’s legal team, led by attorney Abbe Lowell, has claimed Weiss caved to “political pressure” by bringing the firearm charges in Delaware.”
Hunter discussed his drug use in a 2021 memoir, “Beautiful Things,” which prosecutors say “made countless incriminating statements about his years-long drug usage.”
Joe Biden’s son is now facing three federal gun-related felony charges over the ordeal.
He also has three felony and six misdemeanor counts pending against him in Los Angeles for evading $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019.
“Based on the facts and the law, if Hunter’s last name was anything other than Biden, the charges in Delaware, and now California, would not have been brought,” Lowell said last month.
Hunter pleaded not guilty to charges of lying on a firearm purchase form about his drug use.
