CNN political commentator Van Jones warned that reelecting Joe Biden would be like giving “grandpa a high-stress job for six more years.”
Jones was asked about a new CNN poll, which puts Biden neck-and-neck with all the Republican challengers except Nikki Haley.
Van Jones noted that “grandpa” Biden if suffering in the polls, with an approval rating at just 39 percent, showing people are concerned about his age.
Watch
According to the CNN poll, 73 percent were seriously concerned about Biden’s competence, and 76 percent were concerned about his ability to serve if reelected.
Meanwhile, 67 percent of Democrats say they should nominate someone besides Biden.
“He may go up as the economy improves, but right now, the economy is getting better, and fears about the economy are getting worse,” Jones said.
“We’ve got to be honest as Democrats that there’s real pain out there at the base of our party.”
“People still don’t feel these [economic] policies yet, and we’re gonna have to make the case stronger.”
Co-host Poppy Harlow asked Jones about former Obama aide Jim Messina, who said Democrats were ‘f bedwetters’ for panicking about the polling.
But Jones said the polling needed to be taken seriously.
“If Jim Messina says that we’re bedwetters, invest in Pampers and Depends because a lot of people are terrified that Joe Biden is in real trouble – and that you can’t talk about it,” said Jones.
As The Daily Fetched reported last month, most Americans believe Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term as president, according to a new Associated Press/NORC poll.
The poll also reveals that 69 percent of Democrats agree that Biden is too old for office.
As we reported in July, Former president Barack Obama is behind the scenes to throw Joe Biden under the bus as it’s becoming undeniably clear he is “too old” to win, according to a report.
Reports surfaced Obama was holding a secret meeting in Washington, D.C., to rally Democratic congressional support to replace Biden atop the party’s 2024 ticket.
