Comedian Chris Rock warned Washington D.C. elites that arresting Donald Trump would make him “more popular” than ever.
The comedian also took a jab at the former president, jokingly suggesting it was “romantic” he paid off Stormy Daniels so Melania wouldn’t find out.
Rock also trashed Joe Biden, saying the 80-year-old returned from the dead to be president.
Speaking at the Mark Twain Prize at the Kennedy Center, Chris Rock focused on the news surrounding Washington elites arresting Trump, which is meant to happen Tuesday.
“Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?,” he asked the crowd, which former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several Biden administration officals.
“Do you know this is only going to make him more popular. It’s like arresting Tupac. He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?,” Rock continued.
Rock then said it was “romantic” that Trump had ‘f a porn star and paid off someone so his wife couldn’t find out.
“We’ve all been cheated on. Don’t you wish that the person that cheated on you paid off somebody so you wouldn’t find out?” Rock said.
Trump is set to face criminal charges for $130,000 in payments his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, sent to Stormy Daniels in 2016.
Prosecutors argue that the payments violated campaign finance laws.
But Trump has repeatedly denied the affair.
This weekend, Trump announced he was prepared to be arrested on Tuesday and urged his supporters to protest.
Rock also tore into Biden, who was not in attendance, making fun of his age.
“Trump was so bad as a president, he was so bad that Joe Biden had to burst off a monument. Biden was dead for 16 years,” Rock said.
Rock then gave a shoutout to Paul Pelosi.
“Paul Pelosi only got it. He knows how I felt,” he said.
Earlier this week, Nancy Pelosi smugly trashed Trump as left-wing radical Soros DA Alvin Bragg prepares to arrest the former president.
Pelosi accused Trump of ‘fomenting unrest among his supporters’ and boasting about his alleged coming arrest next week.
“He cannot hide from his violations of the law, disrespect for our elections and incitements to violence,” Pelosi tweeted.
“Rightfully, our legal system will decide how to hold him accountable.”
