The CEO of missing Titanic tourism submarine OceanGate, Stockton Rush, told media that the company did not want any experienced “50-year-old white guys” because they weren’t “inspirational.”
During an interview before the submarine entered the ocean to the Titanic wreck, Rush said, “When I started a business, one of the things you’ll is that there are other sub operators out there, but they typically have gentleman who are ex-military, and you see a whole bunch of 50-year-old white guys.”
“I wanted our team to be younger, to be inspirational,” Rush continued.

OceanGate’s submersible, the Titan, is currently missing with five people on board after it lost communication during a dive to the Titanic’s wreckage, which is around 12,500ft below the Atlantic.
Rush is also understood to be on board the vessel, which vanished Sunday, along with French Navy veteran PH Nargeolet.

A frantic search and rescue operation is underway to locate and recover the vessel before its 96-hour oxygen supply runs out.
Officials searching for the missing sub have warned that they may be unable to rescue the occupants even if they find it.
The sub’s oxygen supply was at just 40 hours from Tuesday afternoon, giving rescue crews until Thursday morning to find it before it runs out.
Rescue crews from the US, France, and Canada are still trying to find the vessel, which is understood to have last ‘pinged’ while directly above the Titanic wreck.
First District Response Coordinator Capt. Jamie Frederick said the Coast Guard has already searched 7,600 square miles of ocean – a search area the size of Connecticut.
Among those taking part in the most recent expedition are billionaire Hamish Harding, CEO of Action Aviation in Dubai, Shahzada Dawood, 48, a UK-based board member of the Prince’s Trust charity, and his son Sulaiman Dawood, 19.

In other words, we preferred to hire inexperienced minorities because they work so cheap compared to people who actually know what they are doing.
