CBS News BANS Reporters from Using Word “Transgender” to Describe Nashville Shooter

As mainstream media outlets scramble to find a ‘woke’ narrative surrounding the transgender Nashville shooter, CBS News went a step further, banning its reporters from using the word “transgender” altogether.

According to a report from The New York Post, CBS News executives sent out a memo telling staff to refrain from mentioning the shooter’s gender identity.

The bizarre move by CBS to ban its reporters from using the word, seemingly to appease the woke mob, came despite police admitted the transgender identity of the Nashville shooter was a motivating factor in the horrific rampage.

A CBS memo from the network’s executives, obtained by The Post, said: “The shooter’s gender identity has not been confirmed by CBS News.”

“As such, we should avoid any mention of it as it has no known relevance to the crime. Should that change, we can and will revisit,” it continued.

While it is typical for mainstream media outlets to speculate motives and accusations of such tragedies before confirmation on certain pending information, CBS has suddenly decided it would refrain from doing as such.

According to CBS executives, the transgender angle had “no known relevance,” – which is untrue.

Remember, this is the same media that scours social media of any white male involved in a mass murder event. As we have seen in the past, the media immediately forms narrative shooters being a ‘white supremacist’ or ‘MAGA supporter’ without any confirmation or evidence.

But in the case of the transgender shooter, the media has decided to throw out their usual hyper-political playbook, which demonizes anyone on the right, because their leftist narrative is now under threat.

“Right now we advise saying: POLICE IDENTIFIED THE SUSPECT AS A 28-YEAR-OLD AUDREY HALE, WHO THEY SHOT AND KILLED AT THE SCENE,” the Tuesday memo said. “And move on to focus on other important points of the investigation, community and solutions.”

Insiders described the memo as “absurd” in the face of the facts, The Post reported.

“This is absurd because the police identified Hale as transgender,” a CBS insider said. “If the cops didn’t address it, maybe you could avoid it but withholding information is not journalism.”

According to the source, the two CBS News execs’ “liberal bias” was “twisting themselves in knots” and cuasing a “disservice” to the network’s audience.

The angry CBS source said: “You need to look at all the facts of the case,”

“Everyone should be invested in understanding what happened. I don’t know how you do that without understanding the full scope of the situation.”

A spokesperson told The Post they are waiting for more “details.”

“We are waiting to see the Manifesto and any details about motive,” a CBS spokeswoman told The Post. “As we say in our guidance, we will then review and revise our reporting.” The CBS spokeswoman declined to comment further.

Meanwhile, other media outlets are being less brazen about crafting the narrative around the shooting.

As The Daily Fetched reported on Thursday, The Daily Mail framed shooter Audrey Hale as a victim for being “rejected” by her Christian parents.

Here is a portion of the Daily Mail’s crafted narrative:

“Twenty years later, after being rejected by her Christian family when she came out to them as gay, Hale had turned into a killer.”

Although the Daily Mail’s angle doesn’t excuse the killer, it does, however, create a more sympathetic narrative behind Hale’s actions.

The media is truly the enemy of the people.
