Following reports that a Parkinson’s specialist visited the White House eight times within eight months, Joe Biden’s personal doctor, Kevin O’Connor, revealed in a letter why such visits were made.
The letter comes amid growing speculation about Biden’s health following his disastrous debate last week.

O’Connor’s letter read, which appears to be part of the Biden campaign’s damage control, read:
“Dr. Cannard was the neurological specialist that examined President Biden for each of his annual physicals.”
“President Biden has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical,” it added, per The New York Post.
Cannard is a movement disorder specialist who works at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland and served as the neurology consultant to the White House medical unit since 2012.
Between July 2023 and March 2024, Cannard visited the White House residence clinic eight times.
In his letter, O’Connor emphasized Cannard specializes in treating patients with movement disorders like Parkinson’s and that Biden showed no signs of Parkinson’s or other neurological disorders in his last physical in February.
The letter came after Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged questions from journalists who pressed her for transparency regarding the frequent visits documented in the White House logs from July 2023 through March 2024.

O’Conner’s letter came after KJP declined to explain the visits from Parkinson’s specialist Cannard.
According to White House logs, Cannard met with Megan Nasworthy, who coordinates primary care visits for the president and his family.
Cannard met with O’Connor and a cardiologist at Walter Reed, Dr. John Atwood, during another visit.
O’Connor went on to clarify that Cannard frequently visits the White House medical unit to meet with members and hosts regular neurology clinics for active-duty servicemen.
“Prior to the pandemic, and following its end, he has held regular Neurology Clinics at the White House Medical Clinic in support of the thousands of active-duty members assigned in support of White House operations,” he penned.
“Many military personnel experience neurological issues related to their service, and Dr. Cannard regularly visits the WHMU as part of this General Neurology practice.”
