When Joe Biden addressed the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, during his State of the Union address, he forgot some vital information…her name.
Given Ukraine has been at war with Russia for over a year with over $100 Billion in funding, forgetting the name of someone at the center of such relations is pretty bizarre and embarrassing.
Here is what Biden said:
“Tonight… we’re once again joined by Ukrainian’s ambassador to the United States. She represents not just her nation, but the courage of her people. Ambassador… our ambassador is here. We’re united in our support of your country. Would you stand so that we could all take a look at you?”
We can’t figure out what is more awkward, Biden’s garbled introduction or the expression on Oksana Markarova’s face.

Meanwhile, CNN knew ahead of time that Markarova was Jill Biden’s guest at SOTU, but nobody briefed sleepy Joe, it seems.
Maybe Biden did know her name but forgot how to pronounce it? After all, Biden did call Tyre Nichols “Tyler” with his widowed parents present.
Maybe the comforting rubs of Paul Pelosi made Markarova more comfortable.
Joe goes on to say:
“Because we’re gonna stand with you!”
“Whoever you are…”
“As long as it takes!”
Maybe if the U.S. entered World War 3, Joe might remember the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States name.
But we doubt it.
