Joe Biden’s campaign accused ‘MAGA’ Republicans of taking marching orders from former president Donald Trump in efforts to formalize an impeachment inquiry into the president.
In a new memo via NBC, Biden-Harris 2024 communications director Michael Tyler accused House Republicans of accommodating Trim on the heels of his promise to rule with an iron fist on “day one” if he’s elected.
“The only branch of government MAGA Republicans control is following through on Donald Trump’s promise to use the levers of government to enact political retribution on his enemies,” Tyler said.
“You know, like the followers of a dictator.”
The memo also accuses House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who recently called on Republicans to impeach Biden, of taking his “marching orders” from Trump,
It also aimed at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who promised to introduce impeachment articles before Biden was elected.
Johnson, Tyler said, made an about-face on the proceedings following a meeting with Trump.
Tyler said in the memo that Trump allies have drawn a link between impeachment and a need to “inspire the base” ahead of 2024.
“Instead of trying to deliver results for the American people, Trump’s MAGA followers in the House are using their power to pursue an evidence-free impeachment sham all to help Trump’s 2024 campaign,” he continued.
House Republicans accuse Biden and his family of profiting from the new president’s decisions while he served as vice president under Obama.
The GOP House is expected to proceed with a vote on Wednesday, which would grant the party new powers to investigate Biden, and a resolution to authorize the inquiry is set to go before the House Rules Committee next week.
Tyler claimed the push for impeachment is opposed by over half of Americans.
“Instead of focusing on the important issues that really matter to Americans’ everyday lives, like lowering costs, creating new jobs, strengthening health care, or tackling gun violence, extreme MAGA Republicans have turned the House of Representatives into an arm of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign,” he added.
The desperation within the Biden camp is becoming more evident as 2024 draws closer.
Last week, Hillary Clinton vowed to stop Trump from returning to the White House by playing a bigger role in Joe Biden’s 2024 presidential re-election campaign.
The Daily Fetched reported:
Hosting a fundraiser for Joe Biden at her Georgetown home, Clinton seeks to expand her role in the battle to stop Trump from being re-elected.
Last month, Women’s Leadership Forum members convened at Clinton’s home in Washington, D.C., to raise over $1 million for Biden.
Clinton has been gradually increasing her presence in the Biden campaign, while former President Barack Obama is doing the same amid Biden’s low approval ratings.
