President Joe Biden admitted that Vice President Kamala Harris was chosen as his running mate for “diversity” reasons and had nothing to do with her qualifications or experience.
“To me, the values of diversity, equality, and inclusion are literally – and that’s not kidding – the core strengths of America,” Biden said in Philadelphia.
“I’ve tapped into the full talents of our country, and it starts at the top with the vice president.”
During Black History Month Biden made similar comments, stressing the support for Black Democrats, a crucial constituency for his party.
“I promised an administration that would look like America. I’m proud to have the most diverse administration in all of American history,” he said.
“I am president, and Kamala [Harris] is vice president, because of you. You’ve had my back, and we’ve had your back, and we always will.”
In 2020, Biden assured MSNBC’s Joy Reid that he was considering several Black women for the VP role, emphasizing the importance of incorporating more non-White individuals into his administration.
Biden even received a letter, signed by over 100 prominent Black men, urging him to select a Black woman.
Notable signatories included Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is now under investigation for sex trafficking, and television personality Charlamagne tha God and civil rights attorney Ben Crump.
As Natural News reported:
The selection of Harris was seen as a strategic move to galvanize loyal Democratic voters and activists. The Democrats framed the role of Harris as a significant step toward representation and inclusivity in American politics, and gave voters a reason to go to the polls and vote for someone based on identity rather than ideology.
Throughout his presidency, Biden has implemented numerous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across various government agencies, establishing executive orders and mandates to promote racial and gender diversity. These initiatives span multiple sectors, including agriculture, healthcare and education.
In a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Fight for Freedom Fund dinner in Detroit on May 19, where he served as the keynote speaker, Biden also declared DEI as the “core strength of America.”
“We have more African Americans, we have more women, we have more minorities in our administration than any other administration in all of history. That’s why we’re doing so d— well.”
