The Biden administration is set to pump another $2.6 billion worth of munitions into Ukraine, Kyiv officials confirmed.
The figure brings the total amount of money paid to Ukraine for security assistance to over $35 billion since Russia invaded Ukraine.
The news comes just a day after the U.S. announced it would also send a further $400 million military “aid” package to Ukraine.
The package would consist of rockets and armored mobile bridge systems.
According to anonymous officials within the U.S. government, the Biden administration is also preparing to send another half a billion dollars worth of ammo and equipment to Ukraine on top the $2.6 billion.
he long-term Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative will include a further $2.1 billion in taxpayer money.
The funds would be used for purchasing ammo for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System, reports say.
The news of more funds being pumped into Ukraine shows how Western nations have no intention of stopping the war.
However, countries across Europe are beginning to struggle to keep up with the spending, as both the United Kingdom and Germany are reporting their armories are running dry, The Telegraph reported.
“There comes a point where we can no longer do our jobs,” the chief of Germany’s armed forces warned.
Last month, one munitions manufacturer accused Chinese social media app TikTok of sabotaging the Ukrainian war effort with the company’s employment of a nearby data center which they claim prevented them from ramping up their ammo output.
“We are concerned because we see our future growth is challenged by the storage of cat videos,” the head of Norwegian weapons manufacturer Nammo said regarding the predicament.
In March, President Donald Trump vowed to end “entire globalist Neo-Con establishment” and called for “peace without delay” in Ukraine.
“Every day this proxy battle in Ukraine continues, we risk global war. We must be absolutely clear that our objective is to IMMEDIATELY have a total cessation of hostilities. All shooting has to stop. This is the central issue. We need PEACE without delay,” Trump said.
