Activists are demanding that California pay a whopping $200 million in reparations for “each and every African American” in the state.
While Reparation payments for black residents in California have ballooned to $800 billion, more than twice the cost of the state’s entire annual budget, they still say that’s not enough.
Activists demanded California pay millions in reparations to make amends for historical slavery and subsequent discrimination.
On Friday, the task force approved recommendations for reparation payments due in July, according to Breitbart.
The task force, consisting of nine members, called on lawmakers to make a formal apology and demanded those eligible will receive “cash down payments.”

The task force was created following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin over two years ago.
If passed, black residents older than 71 would be eligible to receive more than $1.2 million in reparations.
However, one activist, Rev. Tony Pierce, said he believed that figure wasn’t enough.
“You know that the numbers should be equivocal to what an acre was back then. We were given 40, OK? We were given 40 acres,” said Pierce.
You know what that number is. You keep trying to talk about now, yet you research back to slavery, and you say nothing about slavery, nothing,” he added.
“So, the equivocal number from the 1860s for 40 acres to today is $200 million for each and every African-American.”

“These estimates include, for example, losing $2,352 per person per year of California residence for the over-policing of Black communities, $3,366 per person per year of residence for “discriminatory lending and zoning,” $13,619 per person per year of residence for “injustices and discrimination in health” and $77,000 per person for Black-owned business losses and devaluations.”
While the reports are currently just estimates, the task force was not instructed to identify funding sources, according to California Justice Department officials.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced in January that the state faces a projected budget deficit of $22.5 billion. California Legislative Analyst’s Office later estimated that Newsom’s forecast undershot the mark by about $7 billion.

After Lincoln abolished slavery in the South, he continued to walk past two slave markets daily to and from where he worked. Abolishing slavery was a tool to further economically destroy the agrarian South.
The Democrat Party supported slavery, created segregation laws, and voted against Republicans who had to end the Democrat Jim Crow segregation laws. Why is the Democratic party not offering to pay reparations?
IMO… Black Citizens in California are being played by Democrats as the weasel words are ” that qualify “…What does that mean…well I presume it means one would need to be able to trace your bloodline back one hundred and fifty years to a person known to have been a slave…I don’t know if birth records can easily be found or kept from the 1800s, plus with all the drive by men fathering children by the bushel, would their names be on the birth certificate
Reparations were paid in full in 1865 with the lives of over 350,000 union dead, plus the wounded and POW’s.

How many of those Black American’s ancestors were actually slaves and how many were actually slave owners? Yes, many blacks also owned slaves. How many immigrated here from Africa and the Carribean in the last 100 years, after slavery? The first legal slave owner in the colonies was a black man who went to a Colonial court to indenture his servant to a life servitude instead of the normal 7 year indentured servitude.

Both sets of my grandparents came legally from Mexico in 1910(M) and 1916(F) and were already Citizens when my parents were born. In turn, my ancestors were at one time, Enslaved by the Spanish. Can anyone give me a valid reason why the tax dollars from anyone in MY family should go to paying “Reparations” to people we had NO hand in enslaving?
California must need to replace all those smart people leaving the state. So, I wonder how many ‘white dudes’ will ‘self-identify’ as black and stand in line for those ‘never to be paid’ reparations?
