Twitter’s community notes fact checked NBC News after it used a misleading photo in a tweet about a sexually-explicit LGBTQ book found in school libraries.
“An Illinois teacher offered her middle schoolers a bestselling LGBTQ-themed book,” the NBC News tweet read
“Parents filed a police report over her book choice.”
The teacher Sarah Bonner read to her class the LGBTQ book entitled “This Book is Gay.”
However, NBC used a photo of the teacher holding a totally different book.
The tweet was immediately flagged as misleading by Twitter users, and NBC got fact checked for misleading users by posting a book that was not the LGBTQ book.
“The incorrect book is shown. The book in question is, ‘This Book is Gay,’ which explains how to find sexual partners online and contains sexually explicit pictures,” the community note read.
NBC spoke to the middle school teacher who defended the book but resigned after she was put on paid administrative after the incident.
Twitter users accused the outlet of trying to cover up why parents were outraged by posting a picture of a less offensive-looking book.
So Twitter users shared shocking graphic depictions and information in the book, including instructions for “boy-on-boy” sex.
The book also discusses orgies, kinks, and sex apps and also discusses anal and “girl-on-girl” intercourse.
According to Vanderbilt University, the book was ranked ninth among the most banned books in the U.S.
The author of the widely banned book, Juno Dawson, claimed it is “definitely not pornographic” in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine.

It’s astounding that any parents stills send their kids to public schools, for racist and anti-american indoctrination and for sexual grooming. If your school isn’t doing this, you just haven’t caught them yet.
There was a time when these people would have been skinned, and left unrecognizable, or just disappeared.
