MSNBC-s Joe Scarborough Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Responsible for Killing Little Children

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough accused Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott of killing children in the state during his “Morning Joe” broadcast on Tuesday.

The gunman who opened fire Saturday at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, killing eight people and wounding at least seven others.

During a panel discussion on gun control, Reverend Al Sharpton claimed there are “more guns than people” in the United States.”

Sharpton’s remarks prompted Joe Scarborough to unleash a tirade on Greg Abbott.

“I always talk about it; I get guns. Guess what else I have?” Scarborough said.

“I got training. I got a permit, I went through the process, practiced at the range,” he said.

“They have idiots now – and you talk to gun shop owners, and they will go, like, ‘Well, tell me, this guy just walked in; he’s an idiot.”

“I had to sell him the gun. You know, passed this cursory check,'” Scarborough said.

“Again, Greg Abbott and Texas legislators are killing little children every day because they won’t do what is required to keep them safe in schools, to keep them safe in churches, to keep them safe in synagogues, to keep them safe at country music concerts,” Scarborough continued.

“It is an unbelievable crisis that we have self-inflicted so that others can make crazy money selling us guns and just keep doing it,” the host continued.

“And no one is standing up,” Sharpton said.

“There must be a movement across all lines to stop this. That’s the only way it’s going to happen.”

As CNN reported: The massacre unfolded in the same week a gunman opened fire in a medical facility in Atlanta, killing one woman and wounding four others. And it came just weeks before Texas will mark a year since 19 students and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary school in Uvalde.

The gunman in Saturday’s massacre was killed by an Allen Police Department officer who was at the mall on an unrelated call, police said. Investigators believe the shooter was acting alone.

The Associated Press reported:

Federal officials are looking into whether the gunman who killed eight people at a Dallas-area mall expressed an interest in white supremacist ideology Sunday as they work to discern a motive for the attack, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. The official cautioned the investigation is in its early stages.

Federal agents have been reviewing social media accounts they believe were used by Mauricio Garcia, 33, and posts that expressed interest in white supremacist and neo-Nazi views, said the official, who could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Garcia also had a patch on his chest when he was killed by police that read “RWDS,” an acronym for the phrase “Right Wing Death Squad,” which is popular among right-wing extremists and white supremacy groups, the official said.
