Two-thirds of all voters believe it is likely undercover Federal agents provoked the US Capitol riot on Jan 6, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
This is a huge number and shows that most voters are beginning to see that the riot was not organic.
The number is also significant because it shows voters are rejecting the Justice Department prosecutors’ claim former President Donald Trump was to blame.
Rasmussen reported:
While many suspected that undercover agents infiltrated the crowd at the Capitol, Fox’s Tucker Carlson’s iring of never-before-seen videos cemented those suspicions.
Rasmussen reported that nearly half (47%) said it was “very likely” Feds provoked protesters.
“Following Tucker Carlson’s release of previously unseen videos from the Jan 6Jan 6, 2021, riot at the U.S.U.S. Capitol, more voters now believe it may have been provoked by undercover agents,” the poll analysis read.
“Among voters who have ‘very closely’ followed news about Carlson’s broadcast of new videos of the Capitol riot, 72% think it’s ‘very likely’ that undercover government agents helped provoke the riot,” it added.
However, Federal officials denied playing a role, slamming Carlson for iring the videos granted to him by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
In one video, police could be seen acting as tour guides for protesters through the Capitol’s hallways, with some even holding the door open
Footage also showed Jacob Chansley, AKA The QAnon Shaman, peacefully exiting the premises, which contracts media claims of violence and chaos. Chansley even thanks the police officers, saying, “God bless you guys. Thank you for your patience, we really appreciate it.”
Watch
The Justice Department has charged some 1,000 rioters and plans to charge another 1,000.
The video shows a much different take than the politicized view offered by the recently disbanded Jan 6 panel, co-chaired by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Schiff.
