Hundreds of Muslims in the Gaza Strip are reportedly converting to Christianity after claiming Jesus Christ appeared to them in a dream, according to a report from The American Tribune.
Christian professor Michael Licona said reliable contacts serving war refugees in Gaza told him conversions may have taken place among 200 Muslim men after they claimed Jesus visited them during a dream on the same night.
Licona recounted the bizarre occurrence in a post on Facebook:
“God is working in the midst of war! This news coming out of Palestine from underground Christian ministries: Over the past two days, we have ministered to hundreds of fathers who have lost most, if not all, of their children in the war.”
“As we moved these men to safety, we fed them, washed their clothes, and began to read the Bible to them — sharing the way of peace through Jesus,” he wrote.
“Then, a big miracle happened. Last night, Jesus appeared to more than 200 of them in their dreams!’
“They have come back to us to learn more from God’s Word and are asking how to follow Jesus.
“Let’s pray that this war can be over soon and that Israel can eradicate Hamas so that Palestinians can be free . . . of Hamas!” he added.
Underground Christian ministries are helping refugees in Gaza regardless of their faith, as the war rages into its third month.
The current ceasefire has allowed aid into the province and also allowed dozens of hostages to be released.
Meanwhile, another Christian organization, the Assemblies of God News, is also reporting other instances of shared dreams among Muslims, resulting in them converting to Christianity.
Dick Brogden, a missionary within the organization, said:
“I would even say it’s the normal experience.”
“It would be accurate to say that Muslims are responding to Jesus in levels we have never seen, not in 1,400 years!”
He continued:
“Dreams are contributing to revelation … the process of evangelism and conversion.”
“So many Muslims reject Islam, but know that to follow Jesus will cost them everything.”
“Dreams of Jesus encourage them along the way and give them the comfort that Jesus will be with them — though it cost them everything to follow Him,” Brogden added.
Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a dire warning to America if the IDF doesn’t decimate Hamas in the ongoing war in the Middle East.
“We have to win not only for our sake but for the sake of the Middle East, for the sake of our Arab neighbors.”
“You know what, for the sake of Gazans who’ve been held by this dark tyranny that has brutalized and brought them nothing but bloodshed and poverty and misery,” Netanyahu said Monday.
“We have to win to protect Israel. We have to win to safeguard the Middle East,” he continued.
“We have to win for the sake of the civilized world. That’s the battle we’re fighting, and it’s being waged right now,” Netanyahu continued in his warning.
“There is no substitute for that victory.”
“If we don’t win now, then Europe is next and you’re next. And we have to win,” he later added.
